convince mankind that God is Dead.  Well, maybe not that He is dead, but that we can become like Him.  That was the temptation in the Garden of Eden.  “Did God really say, ‘You must never eat the fruit of any tree in the garden’?” The woman answered the snake, “We’re allowed to eat the fruit from any tree in the garden except the tree in the middle of the garden.  God said, ‘You must never eat it or touch it.  if you do, you will die!'” “You certainly won’t die!” the serpent told the woman. “God knows that when you eat it your eyes will be opened.  You’ll be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:1-5  And there you have it, the first temptation.  You’ll be like God.

God created and it was good.  That is what He said that is what the Word says.  It was perfect in every way.  Satan has been out to destroy whatever God creates and destroy God’s plans.  Well, Eve gave in as you well know, and sin entered the world.  Evil is now alive and well.  God is Dead.  Well, He is at least dead in each of us because of the sin nature.  Take a look at another scripture and you will see through this story and the passage that I’m about to share with you, Satan’s tactics haven’t changed one little bit.

“Don’t love the world and what it offers.  Those who love the world don’t have the Father’s love in them.  Not everything that the world offers–physical gratification (Lust of the flesh), greed (lust of the eyes), and extravagant lifestyles (pride of life)–comes from the Father.  It comes from the world, and the world and its evil desires are passing away.  But the person who does what God wants lives forever.” 1 John 2:15-17  Do you see it?  The serpent appealed to Eve’s physical desire, eat the fruit.  He appealed to her greed, look at the fruit, doesn’t it look good.  He appealed to the extravagant lifestyle, you will be like God knowing good from evil.  I submit to you today that his tactics haven’t changed since that day in the Garden of Eden.  He is still appealing to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.  I see it, I desire it, look what I can and have accomplished.  God is dead.

When Eve partook and gave to Adam they died that day.  Not physically, at least not right away, but what died that day immediately was the relationship with their Heavenly Father.  They died spiritually.  So in them God was dead.  It is that way in every man today.  We have the same sin nature in us.  That is why God sent His only Son.  Jesus came to this world, walked on the earth that He created, died on a cross (that He created), was laid in a tomb (that He created), but He walked out again alive completing the gift of life for each one of us.  When we have Jesus living in our hearts, God isn’t dead.  God is alive in us.  Sin brings death, but according to Romans 6, with Christ I’ve died to sin and have been raised to a new life in Christ.  So is God dead?  NO!!!  He is alive and well and sitting on His throne and there is nothing that is big enough to knock Him off.  If you don’t have that life today, open your heart and invite new life.  Become that new creature that God created you to be.

Love all of you and am excited about sharing God’s Life together as we walk this world that He created for us.  Until next time.
