I pray that all of you had a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year. I know that I did!!! It was great to have all my family at the house Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and all day New Year’s. Of course we ate way too much food and watch a whole lot of TV. Even though the holidays are over and it is time to get back into the regular routine of life, I have really enjoyed spending extra time in the Word over the Holiday season.
In my last blog I started talking about a new study I was working on in the book of Genesis and the book that I was using in preparation for that study. It was going through the proofs of the Bible. Today I want to give you another proof that the Bible, God’s Word is real, that it is the Truth, it is the Way!!!!
We talked last time about how God not only gave us the Written Word, but He also gave us the Living Word in His Son, the Messiah. That Word leads us right into the second proof which is “Changed Lives.” Since the beginning of time millions of lives have been changed by the Written Word of God. Some have been changed while they were reading it. Some were changed when they were confronted with its message and others were changed when they heard the Bible taught or preached.
These people had been living lives that were; worldly, immoral, drunken, selfish, secular, lonely, empty, meaningless, greedy, covetous, indulgent, materialistic, indifferent, wasted, agnostic, atheistic. I know that before I totally sold out to the Lord that I was living out many of these lives. My life definitely was empty.
But the Bible, the Word of God, changed me and changed them. They were born again, spiritually converted, changed inwardly, but the Bible. The Bible does this for us; in converts us spiritually, makes a new creature and person out of us. 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
The Bible stirs us to live for God, to live righteous and godly lives. But in return, the Bible gives us the perfect assurance that our sings are forgiven and that we are going to live eternally with God. the Bible stirs us to live moral and upright lives, unselfish and giving lives, the kind of lives that make a community and society strong in love and true justice, in joy and peace. Not only have millions been changed by the Bible, but there are lives still being changed by the Written Word of God today. This is strong evidence that the Bible is truly the Word of God: it transforms lives.
The question that I want to leave you with today. Do you need your life transformed today? Pick up the Word of God, open it up and start reading it. I guarantee it will transform your life today!!! Until next time remember that God loves you and we love you here at CWC.
