Have you ever thought about who you are? On Wednesday nights we are doing a new study on “Overcoming a Negative Self-Image.” Actually, it has been a great study with about 40 in attendance and if you haven’t been involved I would encourage you to come. In looking at the story of Creation and the book of Genesis we start with Genesis 1:1 where it says:
In the beginning God…
At the start of creation the Bible declares an astounding truth: the earth and the universe did not just happen by chance nor did is happen by some random accident. No matter what some scientist say, what some experts might say the earth and heavens didn’t just come out of nowhere. There wasn’t some particle or force, some matter or energy, some element or electrical impulse, some atom, proton, neutron, electron, chemical, gas, or something else that just appeared out of nothing. The earth and the universe did not just evolve from some particle of dust, some gas, or some energy that just appeared. For something to appear out of nothing is against all the laws of nature and science.
The Bible declares, and we have set some proofs in place and there are more that we could set in place, this astounding truth: the earth and the heavens were created by a Sovereign Intelligence and Power who has revealed Himself to be the Supreme Person of the universe. That Person is Elohim, God Almighty, the Supreme Lord and Majesty of all!!! The Bible declares that the universe has been deliberately and personally created by God Himself. God, Elohim, is the Mighty God who alone has the Intelligence and Power to create a universe like ours. Think about our universe…
- Stretches so far into the outer reaches of space
- Reaches out in unbelievable distances
- Includes an unbelievable number of worlds
- Reaches Unfathomable dimensions
- Exceeds the comprehension and understanding of man
The Bible declares that God (Elohim) is the Creator, the Supreme Person, the Sovereign Lord and Majesty of the universe created it all. Now think about this thought. This Creator, God, Elohim, Supreme Person, Sovereign Lord, Majesty of the universe, knows where you are, knows your name, knows what you are doing at this moment, and knows exactly what you need. Jesus said to His disciples, and to us in Matthew 28:18-20 “I’m with you always.” That means that when you are facing that problem, He’s with you. When you are facing that bill, He’s will you. When you are facing that boss, He’s will you. When you are facing that problem child, He’s with you. When you are facing that spouse, He’s with you. When you are facing that person that you need to ask for forgiveness, He’s with you. Whatever you are facing, He’s with you. As long as you have that relationship with Him, He’s with you. The question is, do you have that relationship with Him? He’s right there waiting. You are one of His children and you are not a mistake. You can continue to believe the lie of this world or you can believe the truth of the Word, the Bible.
